Sustainability Impact
At Loop Apparel, we're driven by a vision of leaving the planet in a better place than we found it. That's why we put considerable effort and intention to selecting the right partners throughout our supply chain, ensuring that we bring you high-quality products made sustainably, responsibly, and ethically.
This led us to partnering with a certified B-Corp and Women Owned Business supply chain management company. They helped us identify suppliers and manufacturers who share our commitment to quality and sustainability.
One such partner is an apparel manufacturer in Dhaka, Bangladesh, known for prioritizing the health and safety of their employees and actively working to minimize their environmental impact. Their commitment is validated by third-party certifications such as Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) for social and safety, and environmental certifications such as Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), Organic Content Standard (OCS), and Recycled Claim Standard (RCS).
When it comes to materials, we made the decision to use 100% organic cotton and dyes for our Loop Tees. This choice offers substantial benefits for the planet, farmers, and your kids compared to conventionally grown cotton and synthetic dyes.
Thanks to these choices, we've been able to make the following sustainability impact:
⚡️ Energy: We conserved 718 kWh of energy, which translates to approximately 24 days worth of energy a typical US household uses.
🚰 Water: 22,420 gallons of water were conserved. Which is approximately 500 bathtubs worth of water.
💨 Emissions: We avoided 184 kgCO2e from being emitted, which equates to about 1,000 miles of driving.
🧪 Pesticides: Avoided 267.75 g of pesticides from being used.
💪 Fair Wage Work: We were able to provide 134 hours of fair wage work.
We also wanted to make sure that we minimize waste and pollution when we pack and ship our products to you. Which is why we pack our items in eco-friendly packaging, we stay away from plastic, and we try to keep things to a minimum (we know...hand written cards can be a nice touch, but they tend to go straight into the trash). So we never pack our items in individual plastic poly bags, and instead use tissue and mailers that are made with 100% recycled paper, and recyclable after use.
